I am a local silversmith working exclusively in sterling and fine silver from my home studio in Henfield, West Sussex. Drawing my inspiration from the forms and details found in nature, I add my own minimalist twist to designs, aiming to create unique, versatile and wearable pieces that will stand the test of time in terms of craftsmanship and fashion.
I use traditional silversmithing skills, including fabricating and forging sheet silver and wire, soldering, hand-piercing and texturing using acid etch and a heat process known as reticulation. This lends an organic, natural lustre to the surface of the silver. A range of precious and semi-precious gemstones are used to enhance some pieces.
I have been making jewellery for over ten years, and after working in higher education and studying art, craft and design history at masters level, I perfected my metal-working skills by taking classes at a local college, followed by two years of intensive one-to-one tuition with a highly skilled craftsman. With this strong foundation I have continued to develop my range, acquiring knowledge and experience of techniques such as casting, stone-setting and working in precious metal clay.
My items are hallmarked by the London Assay Office.
