Isobel Roope
Recently my work has taken a new path. A move away from the functional, conventional vessel, stepping towards a more expressive, sculptural form.
The language of clay is much like the language of the body, sensual and full of tactility. It is a joy to work in this way, conscious of these forms being shaped in my hands.
Immersed in the moment of making.
I moved to the Sussex countryside in Summer 2020 after graduating with a First in 3D Design and Craft at the University of Brighton. My studio is shared with a group of Brighton alumni who have been granted access to some disused art studios within the grounds of a school.
