Mixed Media
Painting is a hobby that developed after I retired as a magazine editor in 2004 and I think my love of shape and form stems from designing pages. Although self-taught, I
attended adult art classes for a couple of years in order to learn new techniques, so from small ‘tight’ watercolours I have developed a free, expressive style on large canvases.
I work mainly with water-based paints and mixed media over collage and my painting style is interpretive abstract, or semi-abstract with a nod to realism.
I’m a member of the Sussex Watercolour Society and have exhibited widely, including at
the Mall Galleries in London.
