Louise Kelly Pottery
Originally from Ireland , having studied illustration there, I discovered a love of pottery while visiting the Leach Pottery in St Ives Cornwall . Pottery lessons with Roberto Gagliano have led to me recently setting up my own pottery studio in Brighton .
I am inspired by walking in the South Downs , and the marks we leave on the landscape . Barbed wire fences and pylons that sit amongst the downs , dissecting the landscape with line . Wind Turbines along the coast at Rampion Wind Farm , are a recent addition to my work .
My work is hand thrown on the wheel, decorated with underglaze and ceramic pencils making each piece unique .
