Nichola Campbell

Gardens, forests and beaches are the subjects of Nichola’s work which she paints or collages with an experimental approach aiming to convey a mood or atmosphere as well as something of the essence of the subject. Her practice, which includes ink paintings and decorative ink collages is influenced by an admiration for the natural world and the changing seasons and a love of the decorative arts from many cultures.

Nichola uses lightfast inks because she loves the medium’s intensity of colour and she works mainly from her studio at home in Newick near Lewes, East Sussex.

Nichola is from Brighton and studied Art in the late 1980’s at Eastbourne College and Brighton Polytechnic/University and she has a BA (Hons) Illustration. She re-starting painting in 2013.
